Korang Bridge in Islamabad Set to Open Soon for Traffic

ISLAMABAD: The notorious traffic congestion at Korang Bridge in Gulberg Greens is set to become a thing of the past. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, has announced that the expansion project for Korang Bridge will soon be completed, bringing much-needed relief to commuters. The Chairman provided an update on the progress of the project, revealing a bird’s-eye view of the bridge. The snapshot showcases a fully paved bridge, with only a few finishing touches remaining.

While no specific completion date was mentioned, Chairman Mengal responded to a social media user, indicating that the bridge is expected to open before the onset of the monsoon season.

In the upcoming fiscal year (FY 2023-24), the CDA has allocated a budget of Rs. 20 billion for significant development projects in the city. Among these projects are the construction of Eleventh Avenue, the Serena Chowk underpass, the Shaheen Chowk Overpass, and the widening of Lahtrar Road, Park Road, and Murree Road.

By undertaking these initiatives, the CDA aims to enhance traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and improve the overall infrastructure of the city. With the implementation of these projects, residents and visitors can look forward to smoother and more efficient travel experiences.
