RDA Signs MoU With Turkish Firm Regarding Consultations On The Ring Road

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and Asian Consulting Engineers JV Turkish Company Botek Bogazici Musavirlik Anonim Sirketi regarding consultation on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project. The signing ceremony was held at the office of the Commissioner. Representatives from the Punjab government, officials from the relevant departments, and representatives from the Rawalpindi Division were present at the ceremony.

Commissioner Chattha’s Remarks on the Project’s Positive Impact

In accordance with the agreement a third-party will assist in determining the most suitable Rawalpindi Ring Road route through the Asian Consultant Engineers JV. Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha spoke at the event, emphasizing the positive impact this project will have on Rawalpindi. He assured the public that there will be no further delays, as the project is in the best interest of the community.

The commissioner also mentioned that the project has the potential to resolve traffic issues in the twin cities. The government conducted an international hiring process to select the consultant, and the qualified consultants have received the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Moreover, Commissioner Chattha revealed that the Punjab government has instructed the Project Management Unit (PMU) to verify the Ring Road project and commence the international bidding process. After careful consideration, the consultant selection committee has reached a final decision, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a collaborative effort with the PMU will be signed in the near future.

During a special occasion, Commissioner Chattha expressed his farewell to Chief Engineer Dr. Muhammad Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa and Director Engineering RDA Amir Rasheed in a ceremony held at Rawalpindi Gymkhana. He commended their exceptional contributions and urged all public officials to demonstrate respect towards their subordinates and the general public. Commissioner Chattha emphasized the urgency of initiating the Ring Road Project, Nullah Lai Project, Kachehri Chowk Project, and other related endeavors without delay.
