The two countries are both members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a political and economic alliance of six Arab states in the Persian Gulf. The relationship between Saudi Arabia and the UAE has been further strengthened in recent years, with the two countries cooperating on a range of political, economic, and military issues.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are leading a construction boom worth $1.36 billion in the Middle East region. This likely means that these two countries are investing heavily in construction projects, which will result in the development of new infrastructure, buildings, and other facilities.

There have been several large-scale programmes and projects proposed by the two countries, all with the overarching goal of radically altering their economies and social structures.

The supervision of mega projects, NEOM Smart City and Red Sea Tourism is under Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. NEOM Smart City aims to create a modern city that will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources which cost around $500bn. 

Other than that, Red Sea tourism will feature luxury hotels, resorts and entertainment facilities, which costs around $10bn. Similarly, the United Arab Emirates has also been spending extensively on building and infrastructure projects. The market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the only market where prices and transactions have both increased at record rates.
