Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha on Tuesday ordered speeding up construction on Rawalpindi Ring Road by conducting day and night shifts. He was presiding over a conference organized to monitor the progress of the Rawalpindi Ring Road and Daducha Dam projects. He said despite construction on Rawalpindi Ring Road being carried out at an incredible pace, they intended to complete the project before the scheduled period for which double shift should be conducted. He suggested that since the winter night was lengthy the contractor should continue work at night as well. He remarked that construction force should be raised for Daducha Dam and construction on different sections should be begun concurrently. He remarked that these public benefit programs cannot afford any more delay.
